Flatbed
These are the most common type of trailer used. They are versatile allowing for various heavy shipments ranging from lumber to steel coils. The length of a flatbed trailer can be anywhere between 48 ft to 53 ft and has a maximum capacity of 48,000 pounds. It is an open container type requiring a shipment to be tarped to avoid damage. Flatbed trailers are about 60 inches above the ground.

Step decK
Step-decks are like flatbed trailers in terms of their appearance. The major difference is in the legal restrictions associated with them. A step-deck trailer allows a shipment a maximum height of 10 ft. They are designed for shipments which cannot be transported by flatbed trailers due to the height restriction.

Dry van
Dry Van trailers are generally enclosed and are commonly used to carry and protect the freights from the harmful elements of the weather or the roads.

Conestoga / Rolltite

Lowboy/Double Drop
Also known as low-bed, low loader, float, or double-drop trailers. It is a semi-trailer having a drop deck. It has two drops in the deck, one right behind the goose neck and the second one is present just before the wheels. As a result, these types of trailers sit very close to the ground. The drop allows the shipping of very huge items like heavy duty construction equipment that is usually heavier than the maximum weight limit of other types of trailers.
